Marriage licenses are issued during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. You do not need to make an appointment. Evening hours are available by appointment only the first Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:45pm.            To schedule an appointment, contact us at 402-444-6080 or    Please allow 24 hours advanced notice for an appointment.


We are located at 1819 Farnam Street in Room H-08 of the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center. 


Marriage licenses can only be issued for ceremonies performed within the State of Nebraska.

Payment can be made with a credit card through the state‚Äôs eGovernment service provider, If you pay with a credit card, the electronic payment processor will charge a 2.5% fee on your total transaction. 


Due to new provisions of the Judicial Code of Conduct, effective January 1, 2011, active judges cannot perform marriage ceremonies between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. 


If you are planning on having your marriage ceremony being performed at the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center/Hall of Justice, we encourage you to bring your own witnesses.
