If you are getting married outside of Nebraska, you need to obtain a marriage license from the state or country in which your wedding ceremony will be performed. Contact the jurisdiction you will be married in for more information.

Payment can be made with a credit card through the state’s eGovernment service provider, Nebraska.gov. If you pay with a credit card, the Nebraska.gov electronic payment processor will charge a 2.5% fee on your total transaction. 


Due to new provisions of the Judicial Code of Conduct, effective January 1, 2011, active judges cannot perform marriage ceremonies between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. 


If you are planning on having your marriage ceremony being performed at the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center/Hall of Justice, we encourage you to bring your own witnesses.
