Effective Friday, March 27, 2020, the Douglas County Clerk’s office will no longer schedule in-person appointments for marriage license applicants.

We will honor any appointments already scheduled through Friday, April 3, 2020.

Marriage Licenses will ONLY be issued by mail through May 1, 2020, or until the Health Department Director’s Order is lifted.

When applying for a marriage license by mail, the following items need to be included:

1) A completed Marriage License Application

2) A copy of each applicant’s ID

3) A fee of $34 for the marriage license and prepaid certified copy

                       - If paying by money order, make it payable to “Douglas County Clerk”

Marriage licenses can only be issued for ceremonies performed within the State of Nebraska.

If marriage license applicants have questions, they can contact our office at 402.444.6080 between the hours of 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
