Clerks office is located downtown in the Omaha-Douglas

What
hours is the County Clerks office open?
The Clerks
office is open Monday Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
We do not close during the lunch hour. The Clerks office
is closed for legal
holidays.
How
do I get a copy of my birth certificate?
Copies of
birth certificates can be obtained by contacting the Vital Statistics section of the Douglas County Health Department at 444-7205.
If the birth certificate was not issued in Douglas County but
in the State of Nebraska contact the Nebraska Health and Human
Services Department located at 301 Centennial Mall South, Lincoln,
Nebraska. Contact them at 402-471-2872 for proper fees and office
hours.
How
do I get a copy of my divorce decree?
Divorce
decrees that were filed in Douglas County are kept on file in
the office of the Clerk of the District Court. To obtain a copy
of your decree please contact their office at 444-7018. Their
office is located on the 3rd Floor in the Hall of Justice, Room
300.

You may
register to vote by contacting the Election
Commissioners office. Their office is located at 225
N. 115th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68154 and their phone number
is 444-7200.

do I become a Notary Public?
The Secretary
of States office processes the paperwork to become a Notary
Public. You can contact their office in Lincoln at (402) 471-2558.

are issued by the Post Office. Please call 1-800-275-8777 to
find a Post Office near you that services Passports. Passport
